I became a 1099 Employee in April.  I paid federal quarterly estimated taxes.  Do I need to also pay quarterly state estimated taxes for Ohio?

Hi mflores1962,

Thanks for your question. According to Ohio Department of Taxation, you should make estimated payments if your estimated Ohio tax liability (total tax minus total credits) less Ohio withholding is more than $500.

Estimated payments are made quarterly according to the following schedule:

2023 Payment Due Dates:
1st Quarter -  April  18, 2023
2nd Quarter - June 15, 2023
3rd Quarter -  Sept. 15, 2023
4th Quarter -  Jan. 16, 2024

Estimated payments can be made electronically.
