Question

Should I include my 1099-misc from a lawsuit settlement even if I did not receive any check for the amount on the 1099-misc?

Lawsuit was due to wages unpaid.

It depends on what the money was for and where the check went and who received the payment?

If the check was used on your behalf and it was not for a settlement that is specifically excluded from taxation such as a personal injury settlement, then yes, you will need to include it on your return.

If the check was used to pay medical bills from a personal injury settlement, then no, you would not include it on your return.
