Question

Tax filing options & estimated taxes.

This year I am delivering for apps like Door Dash, Uber Eats, Roadie, and others.

I do not have an LLC, those apps consider me an independent contractor, and expect to receive 1099's.

Am I considered a Sole Proprietor?

Do I need to use Turbo Tax's business filing options?

Can Turbo Tax help me estimate my taxes and make the payments?

Thank you!

Jake

Yes, you are correct this income is considered self-employment income.  You will need to enter your 1099 income you received on ‌Schedule C. ‌You will also be able to deduct your expenses you had, like your mileage.  Refer to the following TurboTax help articles for steps on how to enter your form and more information on what expenses you can include.

You can file your taxes using TurboTax Premium.

Regarding the payment, TurboTax will help you calculate your estimated taxes and also show you what your payment options.
