Hi,

I am trying to get clarity on a section under the Federal Deduction and Credits for Estimated Taxes that is asks "How much of 2021 Estimated State Taxes was Paid in 2022." It shows that for one of my states, it has a pre-filled amount. I am trying to understand how this amount was calculated. I took a look at the underlying worksheet (Carryover Wks). It shows a table (2021 State Estimates Information) and the amount in question. Is there a way to trace where this is being calculated? Thanks in advance.

What color is the font? Did you transfer in last year's return when you started this year's return? It may have carried over from last year's return or you may have entered the amount in the Estimates section.

Thank you for responding. The number is in blue and I don't believe I entered it. If it was part of importing from my 2021 amended return, how do it know how this number was determined?
