Question

Turbotax automatically assuming I had a break in 2022 HDHP coverage?

This is my spouse's work plan, that I was added to a couple years ago. I am at a point where TT is asking why my coverage ended in 2022. It didn't end, but that is not one of my options. If I go into forms, I have a separate 8889 form with nothing filled in except my name/ssn and no months checked off for HDHP coverage. Do I fill this out separately even though the HSA I use is hers, or is there something I'm missing that makes TT think I didn't have coverage in 2022?

Since you were included as part of your spouse's family plan, then you would answer None to the question asking what type of HDHP plan did you have.  You should see this question on the screen prior to the one where it states that there was a break in coverage.

It doesn't specifically ask, but it refers to any HDHP coverage that was in your name.

I should say "none" even though I am on the family plan, with my name on the card?

If the HDHP is in your spouse's name, as you indicated in your initial post, then, yes, select None.
