I need to be able to get back into the W4s and 1099s for my employees.  I have not been able to do so.  Does anyone have any advise on how to solve this problem.

If you haven't e-filed the forms, select the Edit button from Quick Employer Forms Home Page and then make changes on any field on the form that needs to be corrected.

If you've already e-filed and your W-2 and 1099 forms have been accepted, you won't be able to edit them.

    • To file a corrected W-2, go to the SSA website and file the corrected form, W-2C electronically. You can also use the IRS website for forms and instructions.
    • To file a corrected 1099, use the IRS website forms and instructions for corrections.

Note: Beginning with the 2020 tax year, the IRS requires business taxpayers to report nonemployee compensation on the new Form 1099-NEC instead of on Form 1099-MISC. Businesses need to use this form if they made payments totaling $600 or more to a nonemployee, such as an independent contractor.
