Question

We received a 1099-MISC from the State of California Franchise Tax Board addressed to both of us but neither of us was self-employed in 2022 What is this?

California issued a 1099-MISC for individuals that received the Middle Class Tax Refund if the amount was $600 or higher.  It has been determined by the IRS that the income will not be considered taxable income by the IRS.
