Handling a Blank Box 6 on 1099-NEC

1. Check Box 5: If Box 5 (State Tax Withheld) is empty, you can leave Box 6 (State/Payer's State Number) blank (not $0). and  the system should let you bypass
2. If Box 5 has an amount withheld, you will need to contact the issuer for their State ID#.
