What is the best category for 2014-7 income for me? Misc. income? Box 14 says 2014-7 income xxx.xx. I live in NC

This is a W-2 for 2022. In box 14 it states 2014-17 income xxxx.xx. This income paid to providers for care of individuals eligible under Medicaid or Community Based Services waiver.

You don't have to pay income tax on the income as it is considered a difficulty of care payment. Enter the W-2 and use Other (not classified) for the category in Box 14. See the link below to see how to remove the income from your tax return.

You will not be able to file a tax return for tax years 2014 - 2017. To claim a refund , you must file within 3 years from the time the return was filed or 2 years from the time the tax was paid, whichever of such periods expires the later. or if no return was filed, within 2 year from the time the tax was paid.
