The rebate report says to report it on the T3/RL16 - there is no RL 16.

The RL 16 is a form for Quebec only. If you don't live in Quebec, you don't need to fill out the RL 16.

    Hi,

I just realized that RL 16 refers to QC.  But don't I have to report the amount on my tax return on the T3? I live in Ontario.

Yes, if the rebate report says to report it on the T3, you would still need to enter it on the T3 as that is a Federal form, not a provincial one.

Do you know where on the T3. There is no box that refers to fee rebates. A search of CRA's website seems to indicate to report it on the T5 as carrying charges.

Is this rebate from a Mutual fund trust or a Mutual fund corporation? If it’s from a Mutual fund trust, then they will send you a T3 slip with the amount in the right box.

If it’s from a Mutual fund corporation, then you would enter it as other income. To get there click “Find” (magnifying glass) and search for “other”. Then select “Other Income Sources” from the list and click on the “Go” button. Enter the amount on the second line (ignore the AgriInvest line).
