I entered in the amount of tuition paid, and now want to transfer the same amount to my parent, but it says amount eligible is $0

    Does it say zero on your return or on your parent's return?

    I am having the same problem - I paid no taxes so want to transfer to my parent as I have done in the past but it is telling me I have 0 to transfer and I am claiming the full amount.  Can't figure out how not to claim it?
