Question

1099-R box 15 only has the state but not the state number.

MA state taxes were withheld, and TurboTax requires that number to proceed.  Is there another way to get this number?

    If you are referring to Box 15 State number, and you are importing the form, you may need to obtain an actual copy of the IRS form 1099-R to obtain the number.

     

    If the form does not include the State number, you may have to contact the financial institution that issued the IRS form 1099-R.
