A 1099-int that I received from a private individual lists the payers SSN in truncated form. Turbotax says I have to correct the missing information and will not allow me to transmit transmit my federal return without the full number. I believe truncated ssn listings are allowed. Is TurboTax addressing this issue?

The payers tax identification number is not required. Try leaving that field completely blank and see if you can transmit.

Tried this solution in conjunction with a live assistant via TurboTax but it did not work, the program still mandated the full SSN.  I was ultimately fortunate enough to contact the individual and they were willing to give me their full SSN.  I would otherwise have had to file the old fashioned way, via snail mail.  Glad to avoid that potential headache!
