To enter your Solar and wind credit for Massachusetts, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Open your state return.
    2. Continue through the pages until you reach, Massachusetts Credits.
    3. Click Start next to Solar and wind credit.
    4. Enter your information.
    5. Schedule CMS will be populated on your return and the credit will flow to Line 31 of your Form 1.

Thank you for your answer.  I did fill in the Solar and Wind Credit Information.  Turbotax set up a Schedule EC (Mass Solar and Wind Energy Credit) but the final line 10 was never put into Form 1.  I called our State help line who said that the Line 10 result needs to be added to the Schedule CMS.  That is not happening in TurboTax.

Can you please look into this a little further?  Thank you.

Sure. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

    TurboTax Online:

    1. Sign into your online account.
    2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
    3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
    4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
    5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
    6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

    TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

    1. Open your return.
    2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
    3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
    4. Please provide the Token Number (including the dash) that was generated in the response.

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)

If things worked the way you say they should, I would be all set.  BUT, even though the Schedule EC is complete, Schedule CMS does not appear, not even in the worksheets; and the tax credit due me does not appear on the final form line 31.  I called our State Tax Help Line to make sure there is no reason for me NOT to get this credit.  They said it is a problem with TurboTax, print it out, and along with the additional form and mail it in.  That is what I will do.  This is the third year in a row that TurboTax has carried over this credit rather than filling out the forms properly so that I receive it.
