Can you clarify:  Are you filing a Maryland state tax return?  If not, what kind of return are you seeing Form 502CR?  If you are filing a Maryland state tax return, that form is used to claim personal income tax credits for individuals.

Purpose of Form. Form 502CR is used to claim personal income tax credits for individuals (including resident fiduciaries).

You may report the following tax credits on this form: the Credit for Income Taxes Paid to Other States, Credit for Child and Dependent Care Expenses, Quality Teacher Incentive Credit, Long-Term Care Insurance Credit, Credit for Preservation and Conservation Easements, Credit for Aquaculture Oyster Floats, the Health Enterprise Zone Practitioner Income Tax Credit, Sustainable Communities Tax Credit, the Neighborhood Stabilization Credit, Flow-Through Nonresident PTE Tax and IRC Section 1341 Repayment Credit.

I am filing in Maryland.  Even though I didn't claim to be a teacher or answer any of the questions in that section, TurboTax gave me a $1500 Quality Teacher Incentive Credit that I can't get rid of.  In fact, it gave me two (one for Taxpayer A and one for Taxpayer B), even though I am filing single.   I went back to that section and put zeros where I had left it all blank and it didn't help.  I am not a teacher and didn't claim it

If you don't have any of the credits mentioned by @DavidD66 , then you can delete form 502CR and that should resolve your issue.

  1. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu bar
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Look under Other Helpful Links and choose Delete a form

Find the form 502CR in the list and click on the delete icon to remove it.

I have a similar problem.  Even though I didn't claim anything, TurboTax gave me a $1500 Maryland "Quality Teacher Incentive Credit" for both Taxpayer A and Taxpayer B.  Filing SINGLE and am not a teacher.  I cannot get rid of it.
