Can you claim solar energy federal tax credit through Turbo Tax?

There isn't a clear way to apply for the solar energy federal tax credit through TurboTax Deluxe.

To claim the solar credit, please follow these steps:

 

  1. In TurboTax Online, open your tax return
  2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Deductions & Credits
  3. Navigate to the list of Deductions and credits
  4. Locate the section Your Home and click on the arrow on the right
  5. Click Start next to Home Energy Credits
  6. Follow the interview to enter your information.
