Estimated taxes on state form

Make sure that when you entered the amount of taxes paid, you entered it in the federal section instead of the state. To locate and review this section, follow the instructions below:

If you are using TurboTax Online 

• From the Tax Home screen locate and select Deductions and Credits. Scroll down to +Add Tax Brakes. 
• A menu will appear, locate the section for Estimates and other Taxes Paid. Click on add next to Estimated Tax Payments (this will add the section back to the main screen)
• Go back to the Tax Home screen and back to Deductions and credits. You will see the section added for Estimated Tax Payments. (click start)

If you are using TurboTax Desktop
 

• From the Main Screen select the Federal Taxes tab, then Deductions & Credits. 
• Scroll down until you see Estimates and Other Taxes Paid. Click start on “Estimates”
