federal service on Oregon taxes

Hello:

My Oregon taxes are requiring me to state a federal service from and to date.  I did not work for the government or the armed forces.  It will not let me bypass the date in order to file my taxes.  What can I do.  I have the deluxe version of turbotax.

Thank you,

Kris

Do you have income from a federal pension that is based on federal employment occurring before October 1, 1991?

If so, you may subtract that portion of your federal pension income on your Oregon return. A federal pension includes any form of retirement allowance provided by the federal government to retirees or their beneficiaries.

    Publication OR-PIT-VET

If that doesn't apply to you,

    1. Revisit the Retirement section and Edit the 1099-R form.
    2. Verify your entries. When you arrive to the screen asking "Where is your distribution from?" check if you selected  "Federal Government..."
