If you itemized your 2014 deductions, you may have to pay taxes on your 2014 NC income tax refund, that you received in 2015. If you used TurboTax in 2014, TurboTax would automatically transfer the amount to your 2015 income tax return,  if the amount is taxable.

Please follow these instructions to enter/review your refund for state and local tax refunds on From 1099-G from 2014.

    • Under the Federal Taxes Tab, click on Wages & Income.
    • Scroll down to 1099-MISC and Other Common Income (Tax Refunds, 1099-G, 1099-Misc, 1099-K).
    • Start/update State and Local Tax Refunds on Form 1099-G.

    What did I get a 1099-G for?
