Question

I lived in one state for entire 2024 tax year. My spouse moved to to a different state in June to take care of elderly parents. Not sure how to identify this.

I entered the move in personal info section but the review flagged it and re-asked if "I", not both of us, lived in same state all year.

    When your spouse went to the other state, did your spouse work and earn any income in that state?   If your spouse did not work or earn income in that state it has no effect on your joint tax returns for federal or state.
