Question

I'm trying to file but its asking me to fill out a form 3540: Code 218 but I don't think it applies to me. What should I do

Code 218 on the California Form 3540 is for the Environmental Tax Credit carryover. Did you claim the environmental tax credit on a prior year return that you weren't able to take?

I did not claim it on a prior year and have gone through filing step by step from the beginning over and over and am not sure why its asking me about the form

Once you are sure you don't need this form, you can delete it.

If you are using:

TurboTax Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
TurboTax Desktop:
1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
2. Click on FORMS.
3. Locate the form you want to delete.
4. Click on the form name.
5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.
