Is it possible to be deducted from my taxes.? I have a brother disabled who is living in a nursing home in Lima -Peru, I pay about $535 a month for the tenancy.

    No.  You cannot deduct expenses for someone that is not a US Citizen living in Peru on your tax return. 

     

    In order to claim expenses for someone like that you would have to claim them as a dependent on your return.  in order to claim them on your return as a dependent, they would have to be a US Citizen, US Resident, US National or Resident of Canada or Mexico.

    Sorry--no.    You cannot claim a dependent who is in Peru unless he is a U.S citizen.
