Live in CA work in NV

I reside in CA but worked in NV in 2024. NV doesn’t have income tax but I’m sure I will owe something to CA on that money earned. I can’t figure out how to enter this in TT. For that multi-state section TT states that if you worked in NV then you select “No. I did not earn any out of state income.”

I figured when I got to the CA portion on TT I would have to enter my wages off my W2 but there is no place to do this.

what am I doing wrong? Or is there some weird “good neighbor” thing going on where CA doesn’t tax NV earned income?

You're doing this exactly right.

As a California resident, you're subject to tax on all of your income - even the income you earned in Nevada.

Since Nevada doesn't have state income tax, you don't need to file a Nevada return or pay Nevada taxes. Your income will automatically flow from your federal return over to your California return, even if you don't add anything California related on your W-2.
