My employer deducted Oregon income tax from my paychecks for the entire year but I only worked in Oregon for 5 months. How can i account for this on TurboTax?

File a non-resident return for Oregon.   How to file a nonresident return.    You are going to enter Oregon in the Other State income field and TurboTax will create the return.   Have your employer update their records.

    DawnC,

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have started and gone through the process of completing an Oregon State Turbo Tax return. I should only be responsible for taxes from the 5 months I worked in Oregon. Not the 12 months that were taken out. I don't see any options in Turbo Tax to account for a partial year of tax obligation. My employer told me there was nothing they could do because it was for 2023 and the taxes have already been paid out to the State of Oregon.

Change the amount of income that is sourced to Oregon.  When you come to the screen that is titled Oregon Source Income and Adjustments, change the amount of Oregon income to reflect the amount of income you earned while physically working in Oregon.
