Lived in two states, but only had income in one state. Do I file the state that I had no income in?

I was going to school in my home state and was not working. I got a job in a different state and moved mid-year.

If you became a resident of the state to which you moved to take a job, you would only need to file in that state. Since you didn't earn any income in the state where you were going to school, it is not necessary to file a return for that state.

Turbo Tax asks you about your residency in both states, so how can you opt out of filing for the state where you were going to school? There seem to be no option for that!
