manually select the state my deceased mother lived in

I'm trying to file my deceased mother's taxes. The address on the form is my own (Virginia) which is where all correspondence should go since I administer her estate. But she lived in Illinois. Illinois is where the state taxes must be filed. I am unable to find the place to manually select the state of Illinois for her filing. The user interface always routes me to Virginia with no option to manually select another state. How can I manually navigate to the filing for Illinois taxes?

If you select the state taxes tab, you can select add a state. This will allow you to select IL for the state.

under the state tab there is NO means to select another state

In the My Info section of the online tax return, when entering her information, you are asked for their resident state, which is the state they lived in on 12/31/2024. From the dropdown for states select the resident state.
