I’m an active duty Florida resident (no state tax) currently stationed in North Carolina. I’ve started working a part-time civilian job on weekends. Do I have to pay NC state income tax on those earnings?

As a resident of North Carolina, you are required to pay state income tax on your non-military income, even if you are stationed in Florida. Your domicile remains North Carolina, and you must report all income if it exceeds the filing requirements for your status

For more detailed information, you can refer to the North Carolina Department of Revenue's Armed Forces Information.
