My wife and I live in PA. I work full-time in PA. My wife works full-time in DE. I know to do "mock" federal via this article My wife and I worked in different states, we are filing federal tax as "Married filing joint", should we file as "Single" on individual state taxes or what should we use?  When #3 says "using only their income and their half of the deductions from the MFJ federal return..", that is straightforward.  On the mock MFJ federal form, I loaded her W-2 only, and we used the standard deduction. On the Personal Info, what setting do you use for dependents? We have 2 children - on the Mock MFS form, do I put 0,1, or 2 dependents down for that?

There is not definitive guidance on how to divide the dependents-  if you claim one dependent it would be an accurate separate return for the Delaware return since it is an equal split.
