I work remotely for my employer who is in Illinois. I live in California. He did not register for the State of California to employ me so I do not have any SDI taken out of my check and he does not contribute either. When I call the state office, they do not show that I have been employed in the past 2 years. Is there a way to remedy this and can I pay my own SDI?
