Remove state return

TurboTax has started to prepare North Carolina and New York returns for my son. He is a resident of Massachusetts and has no income from any other state. I need the NC and NY software for my own return. How do I delete the returns that aren't needed? Does the delete state button delete just the return or the state software also?

The only state tax return that will be prepared is the resident state that was entered in the My Info section of the program. Any other states being prepared would be those where it was indicated that they lived in during the year or a state where they made money in during the year (both outside of the resident state)

Go back to My Info and review the the personal information entered.

And, the state return can be deleted without removing the state software.
