I am installing new solar panels. I made a down payment in 2024 and will make the rest of the payments in 2025 when the system will be finished and turned on. Do I wait until 2025 taxes to request a credit for the entire amount paid in both 2024 & 2025?
When the solar system is completely installed and deemed operational then you report the total product and installation cost on the 2025 tax return for the solar credit, if it is installed in 2025.
