1) if you used an "Online" tax account to file your grandson's taxes. .....then you cannot use that account to prepare your own taxes. Each person's "Online" tax file must be done in separate accounts.
OR
2) IF you are using the desktop software to prepare your grandson's first, and his needed a different state than you need....then you will have to buy the state software your need for yourself when you get to the state section of your tax preparations. If you are both suing the same state, then that does not require a separate state purchase (But e-filing it will still cost $20-$25...except NY residents). When using the desktop software, make sure you start a separate file for each person (or couple)
