What do they mean when asking if I want to apply any of your 2024 overpayment of $XXX to your 2025 Minnesota tax?

    They are asking if you want to let them Keep part, or all of your "Refund" to prepay any taxes you might owe on your 2025 taxes......the ones you will file early in 2026.

     

    Just my opinion...but Generally, I recommend you do not do it.  Just get the entire refund.   

    IF, for some reason, you need to pay quarterly estimated taxes each year, just pay them separately.
