For the state of Ohio, the personal and dependent exemption is based on your modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI).

    For tax year 2024:

For MAGI of $40,000 or less, the exemption amount is $2,400.

For MAGI between $40,001 and $80,000, the exemption amount is $2,150

For MAGI greater than $80,000, the exemption amount is $1,900.

Please read this Ohio Revenue document p16 and 17 for more information.
