If the company I work for is based in NY and I’m hybrid but live in CT, should Iocal income tax be withheld?  Box 19, “local income tax”, is blank on my 2024 W2,l. However, in my 2023 W2, local income taxes was withheld despite also living in CT all year.

Why would my employer appear to withhold one year and not the other? Could there be an error on my 2024 W2?

No. NYC nonresidents are exempt from local withholding tax. If you live in Connecticut, NYC tax should not be withheld from your paycheck. If 2024 did not have any amounts withheld, then there is no issue. If your 2023 W-2 did, then city withholding was incorrectly withheld. However, if inputted correctly on your 2023 return, you would have received a refund of NYC taxes withheld on your IT-203.
