Year after year, TurboTax says "We noticed you're in a New York City school district". But I haven't lived in NYC for a dozen years. I think it's an artifact. Fixable?

Yes, the program is holding that information so let me walk you through changing it.

I want you to do something that sounds backwards.

Go back into your NY return,
When you get to NY city residence - select yes.
You will see the school district
delete the school district
select BACK - do not continue
select NY city residence, NO
continue
