Active duty military stationed in AZ. WA resident (no tax state). Received 1099-MISC (box 6) for giving lectures in AK & AZ. Do I need to file state taxes (which state)?

Alaska does not have state income tax, so there is nothing to report on state tax return for your lecture income.

You must file in Arizona if your lecture income earned in the state exceeds the following amounts:

Single $  5,500 net,  $15,000 gross

Married filing joint $11,000 net  $15,000 gross

Head of household $  5,500 net  $15,000 gross
