Do I have to pay for TurboTax Deluxe if I am active duty military?

If you are active military, and indicated as such when you entered your personal information in the My Info section, then there is no charge for using the TurboTax online editions of either Deluxe or Premium. But not any of the Live or Full Service editions.

You also must enter a military's W-2 and be one of the enlisted grades.

No, but you have to have entered a military w-2 from DFAS and have an enlisted rank entered E1-E9. See promo page

AND, for that DFAS W-2, and on a page After the main W-2, there is a page with a whole long list of checkboxes.

In the middle of it is one you must check.....to indicate that the W-2 is for Military service.
