My husband and I are dual military from the same state but we are stationed in different states. Do we file married joint or married separate?

File joint. So long as our HOR does not tax your military income, it will be "exactly" as if you were stationed together. For a married couple to file separate returns is "always" more costly tax wise. When a married couple files separate, they both "automatically" disqualify themselves for deductions and credits they would get by filing joint. So file a joint return for the greatest tax advantage.
