Question

For state taxes: I am in the military and am stationed in Virginia. My state of residency is Indiana. Do I deduct only property tax that was paid in Indiana?

Yes, you only deduct property tax paid to Indiana. This is because you are not paying property taxes to Virginia. You are merely stationed there, which means the government is paying your housing costs.
