Question

I am Active Duty Military and my state of residence is California but it asks if I lived in another state in 2016 and I have been in New Mexico since 2014. What do i put

It depends.  In reality, if you were only stationed in New Mexico, the answer to the question is that you did not live in any other state besides California.  Once you answer this way, you will not need to put any date for New Mexico.  Please see this FAQ on Military State Filing rules for more information:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3300147
