Question

I'm in the Air Force Reserves in Arizona. On the active military pay section, do I enter the gross income I earned in 2020 with the reserves?

I attended drills one weekend each month and did my two weeks in July 2020. I have a check stub for the two weeks with the amount of income I earned.

Yes, you will enter the income you earned as a reservist as a military pay subtraction.

Arizona Pub 704 - Taxpayers in the Military: Arizona law allows a reservist to subtract the compensation received for active service as a member of the reserves during the taxable year, to the extent the income is included in the reservist’s Arizona gross income. For the purpose of this subtraction, the term active service as a reservist has been interpreted to include all pay received by the reservist for services performed as a reservist, including weekend duty and the two weeks a year “active duty.”
