Question

I was active duty it the military until October then I transferred into the reserves. Does it matter what I put when it asks me if I was active all year or reservists?

it does not make a difference in your federal return but may make a difference in your state return. For an example, your active military pay is taxed in your Home of Record but your reservist pay is taxed in the state where you resided while serving with the Reserves.
