As a us citizen living in germany will the german income tax paid on inherited ira distributions be deductible on my us return form 1116?

    @Isabel4 , depending on the exact facts and  circumstances, your German taxes  should be eligible for Foreign Tax Credit.

    Note to achieve this , you have to "resource by  treaty "   so there is foreign income ( distribution  from the IRA ).
