Question

Is there a way to not allow turbotax to automatically enter information into state return? I need to edit military pay as it's exempt in AZ

    After you complete your federal tax return and enter the Arizona return interview, you will have the opportunity to adjust for this, if the program doesn't do it automatically. 

    If it is the only income that you have to report, you do not have an obligation to file an Arizona tax return so you can skip that step.
