Military, active duty, reserves, state taxes

What states do I need to file for? I was active duty from January 1 2016 - October 1 2016. My home of record was Virginia while on active duty.  I never changed it after transitioning to the reserves in October 2016.  I PCS to California from a foreign country in August of 2016 and stayed in California.

In TurboTax list yourself as Active Duty (it won't make a difference on what TT shows you in terms of questions). For your Home of Record you'll use Virginia.
