Question

MO-1040 is showing civilian income as military income. I didn't receive any military income in 2020, but it's showing my civilian income in "military deduction worksheet"

In my MO-1040, in the "Military Income Deduction Smart Worksheet" the wages I received from my non-military job is population in the line "Active Duty Military income as reported on your Federal return." I did not receive any military income and my Federal return shows no military income. I removed my DFAS W-2 field when I began filing. There is only one W-2 in this year's return and it is a civilian job. I have double checked to make sure my profile says I am no long in the military, but it is not changing this line.

Please check on your W-2 if the active-duty military box on the "Do any of these uncommon situations apply to this W-2?" screen is checked:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on the Search box on the top and type “W-2”
  3. Click on “Jump to W-2
  4. Click "edit" and continue until the "Do any of these uncommon situations apply to this W-2?" screen
