Prior to mailing my hardcopy federal and state returns in, if I am military, does it matter if my address on my W2 is different from my address on my 1040 form?

I was living in a different state because of work during 2021 than where I live now. Will is matter for them to process my return if on my W2 it has the previous address versus on my 1040 it has my current address?

That’s not a problem. Your 1040 address should be the one you want the IRS to use to contact you if needed.

It does not matter that the address on the W-2 is different from the address on the tax return. People move all the time. The address on the tax return should be where you receive your mail if the IRS ever needed to contact you by mail.
