Should i count 2020 as military service if i didnt start getting paid until 2021?

i enlisted in national guard in Dec and started drill in Jan.  I am currently in bootcamp. I did not start getting paid unitl jan 2021- do i file as active military?

For tax year 2020 you would not indicate you were active military since you did not receive your military pay until 2021.  On the 2021 tax return that you will file next year you can indicate active military.
