None of the suggestions are working. I've even cleared my return and started over I have checked the Active duty and added my rank. It gives me a total to pay at the end with a credit card.
I'm having the exact same issue. Double checked everything and we have inputted all the right info in the suggested places. Still at the end TT is trying to charge me $69.
AND...there are two places that you must have entered something about being in the military, before the discount will be applied.
...an easy one:
1) when you enter your name and personal information on the My Info page, you need to have entered your E-Rank.
....and then one place that is easy to miss.
2) When you enter your W-2, the page AFTER the main W-2 form, there is a page with a bunch of checkboxes. In the middle of that set of checkboxes is one that MUST be checked,. It indicates that the W-2 you just entered is for active duty military service.

I had the same problem, took some messing around to figure out since it's no longer applied automatically. When you are at the pay screen, on the left side bar with options, click tax tools, then click, switch to free addition. That worked for me!
